Alert System Self-Test Process

Step-by-Step Testing Process

1. Login into Alert.

2. Go to Contacts -> Manage Contacts

   
   

3. Create New Contact (if needed)

   If you are new, create a new contact with your details, like First and Last name and contact number and save your contact.
   
   

4. Start Broadcast Message

   Go to Messages. Under Send a Message, select the 4th message type (Broadcast Message w/ Hosted Contacts) and click on Begin.
   
   

5. Select Contacts and Create Group

   On Send Message | Broadcast Message w/ Hosted Contacts page:

   1. Click on Select Contacts → New Group
   2. Enter a name under Group Information
   3. Select your contact saved earlier and click Add to Group
   4. Click Save group, then Finish
      
      
      

6. Verify Group and Select Devices

   Verify if the group is updated and select the devices based on how your contact was saved earlier. Ex. if only mobile number was saved, select the type Home/Cell/Office.
   
   

7. Provide Message Content

   Enter Message Subject & Message Text as of what you want to test.
   
   

   Click on Typed message tips → Data Inserts and select the insert value First Name & Last Name individually (with space in between each inserts)
   
   
   
    

8. Send Test Message

   Scroll all the way down and click SEND.
   
   
   
   Confirm the number of contacts you are trying to test and click YES.

   To check the test results, go to Reports.
