Upload History Explained
How to read the Upload History tab in Reach, what each status and column means, and how to download and use error reports from failed uploads.
Overview
The Upload History tab is your record of every bulk upload run in your department. It shows the status of each upload, how many rows succeeded, how many failed, and lets you download error details for any failed rows. This article explains how to read it and what to do with what you find.
Where to Find Upload History
- Click Subscribers in the left sidebar.
- Click the Upload History sub-tab at the top of the page.
- All uploads for your department appear in the table, newest first.
- Click the SYNC button to refresh the status of any uploads currently processing.

Upload Statuses Explained
| Status | What it means | Action needed? |
|---|---|---|
| Pending | The upload was received and is being processed. Normal for new uploads. | No. Wait and click SYNC to refresh. |
| Complete | All rows processed. Check the Success count to confirm. | No, unless Success count is lower than expected. |
| Failed (warning triangle) | One or more rows were rejected. The Errors column shows how many. | Yes. Download the error CSV and fix the failed rows. |
| Parsing | The file is being read and validated. Early stage of processing. | No. Wait for status to update. |
| Expired | The upload was scheduled but the time window passed without completing. | Contact Convey support if this appears unexpectedly. |
Downloading and Using the Error CSV
- Find the upload with a Failed status in the table.
- In the Errors column, click the link (e.g., '6 export here').
- A CSV downloads automatically containing only the rows that failed, with an error description for each.
- Open the file in a spreadsheet editor, fix the issues, save as .csv, and re-upload the corrected file.
- You only need to re-upload the failed rows, not the entire original file.

Having Trouble?
| What you're seeing | Why it happens | How to resolve it |
|---|---|---|
| Upload status stays on Pending for more than 15 minutes | Large files take longer. Very large files or system load can extend processing time. | Click SYNC to refresh. If it has been over 30 minutes, contact Convey support. |
| Upload History tab is empty | No uploads have been run for this department, or you are viewing the wrong department. | Confirm the correct department is selected. If uploads have been run, contact Convey support. |
| The Errors column shows 0 but subscribers are missing | The upload may have been assigned to the wrong department or category. | Search for the subscribers in the Subscribers tab across different departments. |
| I see uploads from other users | Reach Administrators see all uploads across all departments. Department Admins see uploads for their department only. | This is expected behavior based on your role. |
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How far back does Upload History go?
A: Reach retains upload history for auditing purposes. For specific retention periods, contact Convey support.
Q: Can I delete an upload from the history?
A: No. Upload History records are read-only. They cannot be deleted from the portal.
Q: The Success count is lower than the number of rows in my file. What happened?
A: Some rows failed. Check the Errors column. If it shows 0 errors but the Success count is still low, the file may have had blank rows at the bottom of the CSV that were counted but contained no data.
Q: Can I re-run an upload directly from Upload History?
A: No. You need to go back to the Bulk Upload tab to run a new upload. Upload History is view-only.
